SpeakABLE Speech Therapy Svcs. is a pediatric practice serving children of all ages in speech, language, and myofunctional therapy. We see children at our Newark clinic, at their schools, daycares, and homes, and we provide online therapy too! At SpeakABLE, we pride ourselves on our neurodiversity-affirming, child-led, and strengths-based services by integrating each child’s sensory needs, interests, and preferences. We strongly believe in empowering families with tools and strategies to support ongoing practice at home and dedicate time during the session for parent education and home practice tips.
We offer clinic-based, school-based, in-home, and online speech therapy services throughout the bay area.
SpeakABLE Speech Therapy Svcs has partnered with the Regional Center of the East Bay since 2007. We are currently in the network with Kaiser insurance. We also accept private pay clients.
SpeakABLE does accept payment through HSA/FSA accounts and can provide the needed documentation should the HSA/FSA company require it for coverage. Additionally, SpeakABLE Speech Therapy Svcs can provide a superbill should a client or their family decide to seek reimbursement of services through out-of-network benefits. The client or their family must check with their insurance to ensure this is an option.
NOTICE OF GOOD FAITH ESTIMATES
In accordance with the “No Surprises Act,” health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. The estimate is based upon what care is reasonably expected to be, at the time in which the estimate is issued. If there are significant changes to the plan of care due to changing circumstances, a new estimate may be issued.
This applies to folks who are paying privately, unable to use their insurance benefit, or are uninsured. This does not apply to those who have and utilize their insurance benefits.

Parent Training Programs

Our parent trainings are geared to empower you with strategies to help your child communicate and interact during everyday routines and activities.
Research shows that it is within these familiar and repetitive interactions that your child’s communication skills will grow.
It Takes Two To Talk ® – The Hanen Program ® for Parents of Children with Language Delays
The It Takes Two to Talk Program is designed specifically for parents/caregivers of children ages five and under who have been identified as having a language delay. In a small, personalized group setting, parents learn how to become their child’s primary language facilitator during everyday interactions, while gaining support from other parents and Hanen certified SLP.

More Than Words Program ® – The Hanen Program® for Parents of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder
The More Than Words Program was designed specifically for parents of children ages 5 and under on the autism spectrum. We understand how difficult it is for your child with Autism Spectrum Disorder or social communication difficulties to engage in meaningful interactions and connect with the world around him. This program addresses the unique needs of these children by providing parents with the tools, strategies and support they need to help their children reach their full communication potential.

Teletherapy
We provide Teletherapy services to families throughout the state of California. Teletherapy allows our clients to receive high-quality speech services all from the comfort of their homes. There’s no need to pack up the family and drive to a location or allow someone physically into your house. Just like with in-person speech-language services, teletherapy can be highly flexible. We used evidenced-based techniques to engage, teach, and treat individuals of all ages. Sessions can be modified to accommodate a variety of personalities and learning styles. Sessions are completed over a video conferencing platform or telephone.
School Based Services
We provide appropriate speech-language and occupational therapy services in pre-, elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools with no school-level underserved. Our SLPs work with students exhibiting the full range of communication. We have staff experienced in IEP report writing, evaluations, and provision of therapy services in the academic setting.
Bilingual Speech Evaluation and Therapy Services
We have experienced bilingual Spanish therapists that specialize in providing the best intervention and evaluation via teletherapy.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Orofacial myofunctional disorders affect children, teens, and adults. At SpeakABLE we have specially trained therapists who provide myofunctional therapy to address issues such as tongue- and lip-ties and oral habits such as thumb sucking.
